12th INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION "GRAND PRIX ANIMATO 2010"

December 4 - 7, 2010

The Competition "Grand Prix Animato 2010" is open for all young pianists of all nationalities, of exceptional musical performance level*, born between January 1, 1983 and December 31, 1994 (* see the names of previous winners on the site of the Alink-Argerich Foundation : www.alink-argerich.org)

The REPERTOIRE and OBJECTIVE of the COMPETITION

The competition repertoire is basically free, the contestants give three brief recitals of 30 minutes each. (total: 90 minutes)

  • The first recital (first round) must include a Prelude and Fugue of the WTK by J.S.Bach; the rest of the programme is free.
  • The second recital (second round) must consist exclusively of works by Chopin, chosen freely by the candidate.
  • The programme of the third recital (the finals) is entirely free.

All participants will play their complete 90 minute programme. There will be no elimination after any round, the prime objective of the competition being the presentation of ALL the participants to the audience and to the French media, envisaging further concert opportunities for them.

We strongly hope that - like before - the Salle Cortot, where the competition takes place, will be full again. The competitions rounds themselves are experienced as a series of high-key concert performances.

After the finals, the jury will award the first and second Grand Prix Animato. The audience prize will also be assigned.
